Common Installation and Update Issues
Issue 1 – Plugin is under Zip file (No valid plugins were found)
It is very important that some plugins are compressed along documentation, license, images and required plugins, in such case you have to extract the zip file first then find the main plugin and install that file only.
Don’t update plugins from WordPress dashboard, follow the process given above for update.
If you upload the main zip and receive an error, it is most likely because the main zip is not the installable one. Unzip the main zip and you will find the installable zip inside.
Issue 2 – Install Theme & Plugin at respective locations
Remember that the Plugins, extensions, and addons should be uploaded in the Plugins section, and themes in the Appearance section.
Issue 3 – Hosting requirements for installation and use of products
Before you purchase a product on the website, make sure that your hosting meets the following minimum requirements:
- Web server based on Apache or NGINX with 512MB of RAM
- PHP version 7.0 or 7.2 (versions 7.1, 7.3, 7.4 may not be compatible)
- MySQL version 5.7+ or MariaDB version 10.1+
- Apache module mod_rewrite
To avoid getting errors during the installation of the product, make sure that you are using the correct PHP settings on your web server:
max_execution_time = 600
max_input_vars = 5000
memory_limit = 512M
post_max_size = 512M
upload_max_filesize = 512M
Issue 4 – Upload big size Plugin through FTP or cPanel Upload
For plugins with a weight of more than 30 megabytes (which include the different templates), it is necessary that you make your upload through FTP or CPanel upload.
